The city of Barcelona, Spain’s most emblematic city, is famous for its culture and its desire for independence. The city has many places to visit, whether it is for a walk in a park, a visit to a museum or even a swim in the sea.

It is a city with over 2,000 years of history that can be traced through the different sites listed below.

Park Güell

The Sagrada Familia

Symbol of Barcelona, the basilica of the Sagrada Familia is Gaudí’s emblematic work. Its construction began in 1882 and continues to this day. Conceived as a 20th century cathedral, Gaudí left behind a vast construction site after his death, scheduled for completion in 2026. Eighteen towers are planned, with a 172-meter-high spire, the tallest in the world.

When you visit the Sagrada Familia during its course, it will still be under construction, although most of the basilica is already built. You will undoubtedly be amazed by its incredible roof of perforated voussoirs.

The Olympic Port

Built for the 1992 Olympic Games, the Olympic Port of Barcelona is a marina located in front of the Olympic Village.

It is an emblematic place because of the two large towers located on the waterfront, the Hotel Arts and the Mapfre Tower.

There is a commercial area, the Marina Village, with several luxury stores and restaurants.

To enjoy the evenings during your internships, the port gathers numerous criteria, restaurants, pubs, discos, to have fun in every way. It is also a very pleasant place to stroll day and night.

The Picasso Museum

For art lovers or even for the curious, the Picasso Museum in Barcelona is a reference point. It houses more than 3,500 works by the artist, making it the world’s most complete collection of works from Picasso’s youth.

Pablo Picasso loved the city of Barcelona and wanted to leave his mark on it. Inaugurated in 1963, the museum was created at the request of the artist himself.

It is one of the most important museums in Barcelona, so if you want to see all the works on display there is plenty to do over the weekend.

Batlló House

Located on the famous Passeig de Gràcia, one of Barcelona’s main shopping streets, it has existed since 1877 and was redesigned by Gaudí in 1904. Today it is one of the architect’s most important works in Barcelona, and is a real attraction.

While strolling along Passeig de Gràcia, you can also admire other notable buildings such as Gaudí’s Pedrera and Casa Amaltller.

Montjuïc Palace

Barcelona’s emblematic hill, it is the symbol of the 1992 Olympic Games. It is also the site of the Universal Exposition of 1888. The Magic Fountain is also one of the legacies of that World’s Fair.

Gothic Quarter

Emblematic district of the city, it contains numerous Gothic works, including the Cathedral of Barcelona in the heart of the old town.

A tourist district that houses the Plaza Real and the covered market of Barcelona, the Mercat de la Boqueria.

Another very important point, the beaches, you can during your course, stroll with your feet in the water, spend the afternoon on the beach or just swim in the Mediterranean, over 5km long beaches allow you to visit several neighborhoods such as La Barcelonetta.

Barcelona is full of activities to keep you busy during your course, a city full of history and culture that you are sure to enjoy.
