Internship Barcelona 2022: What activities to do?
After more than two years of a ban on public events, 2022 looks set to bring back all the activities we all miss.
In the Catalan capital there are a number of events scheduled, which can help you imagine what your weekends will be like during your internship in Barcelona.
Here is a list of the main activities taking place in Barcelona from February to July.
Carnival (24 February to 2 March)
This is the beginning of Christian Lent and is a time to celebrate in the streets of Barcelona and enjoy the parades, costumes and events that are organised throughout the year.
Sant Jordi (23 April)
This is a very popular traditional festival in Catalonia, during which couples give each other a rose or a book, stroll through the streets of the capital and admire the book and flower stalls.
Barcelona Marathon (8 May)
For the more sporty, this is one of the most eagerly awaited sporting events in Barcelona. Don’t forget to sign up, you still have a few months to prepare and take on the challenge.
Night of the Museums (18 May)
A night where you can observe all the Catalan culture in a different way, enjoying the permanent or temporary exhibitions or even participating in special events. A great way to develop your culture during the course.
Formula 1 Grand Prix (22 May)
For motor sport fans, this is an unmissable event, where you can watch the racers or simply discover the world of motor racing.
Jardins de Pedralbes Festival (from 7 June)
This year is the 10th edition of this festival. Throughout the months of June and July you can go and listen to artists such as James Blunt, Nile Rodgers, the Beach Boys and many others, everything you need to relax during the course.
Primavera Sound (2-12 June)
For music lovers, the 20th edition of Primavera Sound will be held in June at the same time as the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival, with prestigious guests such as Dua Lipa, Gorillaz and many others.
Open-air cinemas (from June)
From the beginning of the summer, numerous open-air cinemas open all over the city. Whether at the Palais or by the sea, you can fill your evenings during the course of the year with a film under the stars.
Sónar Festival (16-18 June)
If you’re looking for a weekend of fun, the Sonar Festival is one of the most famous electronic music events in Europe. You can enjoy the artists present both during the day with Solar by Day and at night with Solar by Night.
Barcelona Beach Festival (from 2 July)
Every summer, this electronic music festival is held on the beach in Barcelona. A mix of dreamy surroundings and good music, something to enjoy during your stay.
La Cruïlla (from 7 to 9 July)
A festival that brings together different styles of music and can attract a wide range of people, it’s one of Barcelona’s top festivals.
All these events will keep you busy during your internship in Barcelona, in addition to all the activities available throughout the year in the city.
