Explore Menorca

Menorca is part of the Balearic Islands. It is located in the Mediterranean. It is a bit less popular than some of the other islands such as Ibiza and Mallorca. Nevertheless, it has a lot to offer, from exploring the wildlife and historical sights to man made attractions such as aqua parks. You can get the opportunity to do all that if you decide to do an internship with us. If you are currently studying hospitality, business administration or linguistics this is a great opportunity for you.

Menorca and its surrounding

It has a pleasant climate almost all year around, due to its location. It is famous for its long beaches. It has sandy ones as well as rocky ones with turquoise blue water, which is called calas. The capital is called Mahon and from there you have a view of a harbor. It has gorgeous houses and an old church, dating back to the 13th century. It has beautiful sunsets, which can be enjoyed from different beaches. It has wildlife, which you can see, both on land and in the water. The other Balearic islands are also accessible with a relatively short boat ride.

Things to visit

As we know, Menorca is famous for its beaches. A must do is therefore visiting at least a few beaches. Cala Marcella is one of the beaches we recommend, as it is surrounded by gorgeous white cleaves and it is a home to blue clear waters. It is a popular stop of most boat tours. There is an Aquae center in Menorca as well. It has many slides, such as kamikadze, black hole and many more. It also offers more relaxing activities such as jacuzzi. You can spend an entire day there. If you are interested in history, you can visit Ciutadella de Menerco. There you can explore museums, fortresses and churches. La Mola Fortress is also has an interesting history to explore and it offers a great panoramic view. Binibeca is a small village located on the sea. It has small white charming streets with traditional houses.

Traditional cuisine

Menorca produces its own wine and cheese. You can sign up for a tour and get to enjoy a lot of the locally produced food and drinks. You can also try traditional Spanish cuisine, which varies depending on the region. A famous Mallorcan dish is caldereta de langosta. This is a lobster stew. The lobster is cooked in tomato, garlic and onion sauce. It looks a bit like soup. You can find out more about the Menorcan cuisine here
