Crafting Cocktails: Behind the Scenes of a Spanish Bar Internship

Stepping into the vibrant world of a Spanish bar, I embarked on an internship that would immerse me in the art of mixology and the craft of cocktail creation. Behind the bar counter, I would learn the secrets of balancing flavors, mastering techniques, and creating unique drinks that delighted the senses of the customers.

The beginning of the Internship

From the very first day, I was amazed by the energy and creativity that filled the bar. The bar was a theater, and the bartenders were the performers, captivating the audience with their skillful movements and dazzling cocktails. I quickly realized that mixology was not just about pouring liquids into a glass; it was a harmonious blend of art and science. I began my journey as an intern by observing and learning from experienced bartenders. I absorbed their knowledge of spirits, bitters, and liqueurs, as well as their understanding of the delicate balance between sweet, sour, bitter, and aromatic flavors. I learned the importance of using fresh ingredients, the art of muddling herbs and fruits, and the careful measurement of spirits to achieve the perfect cocktail.  Here you can find some of the tasks you might be asked to perform during your internship at the bar.
