Internship 2022: Michelin restaurant in barcelona
A Rich Culinary Universe.
The myriad wonders of Barcelona are well documented, with world-beating art and architecture leading the way, closely followed by a buzzing social scene, fascinating cultural events and sunny beachside location.
The city is also a major player on the global culinary stage, with its ability to work creative magic in the kitchen highlighted by regular inclusion in the famous Michelin Guide, the venerable restaurant listing and stamp of quality.
The guide is updated each year to ensure that the utmost quality is assured and the 2019 edition confirms that standards in Barcelona continue to be sky-high. It awards at least one star to 22 eateries in the city itself, and many more to mouthwatering establishments across Catalunya.
The region is home to many cooking dynasties, and manages to combine strong local traditions with cutting-edge scientific innovations, and while the industry tends to be dominated by male chefs, Catalunya has also brought the world Carme Ruscalleda, the first and only 7-Michelin-starred chef.during your internship you should go :
Family affairs
Achieving (and retaining) Michelin star status is an incredible achievement, but being awarded
3 stars is the preserve of the truly exceptional.
One of Spain’s most iconic three-star heroes is Celler de Can Roca in Girona, opened in 1986 by the three Roca brothers and regularly named in the top three best restaurants by many esteemed publications including Restaurant magazine.
The theme of formidable family creativity continues with the Adrià brothers, put on the gastronomic map by Ferran Adrià’s famous El Bulli restaurant in Roses. Named after the no-nonsense breed of dog, the restaurant was imbued with a suitably tenacious reluctance to give up its position as the trailblazing pioneer of ‘molecular gastronomy’.
El Bulli closed its doors in 2011 but the brand lives on in the ‘creativity centre’ set up on the site by the El Bulli Foundation, dedicated to the research and development of food as a concept. It should also be noted than many of the best restaurants in town are helmed by chefs who have passed through the Adrià universe.
Lasarte
A meal at Lasarte isn’t just a meal—it’s a full-on culinary journey that will transport your tastebuds to places you never dreamed were possible.
Lasarte’s bright, modern space perfectly complements that gastronomic wonders that are created within it. It’s evident that Spanish and Catalan ingredients are the pride and joy of this place, and indeed few others can transform them in such magical ways as acclaimed chef Martin Berasategui has.
The 12-course tasting menu will set you back €260, and they also offer a shorter but equally impressive Lasarte menu for €230. The a la carte options are nothing short of exquisite as well.you might see during your internship
ABaC
Housed in the sophisticated boutique hotel of the same name at the foot of Mount Tibidabo, ABaC masterfully blends the classic with the contemporary to create a culinary experience unlike any other.
Chef Jordi Cruz and his team draw inspiration from flavors around the world, but it’s clear that their Spanish-Catalan roots hold a special place in their hearts. As a result, the menu is full of dishes that tell a story with every single bite—or, in the case of their wine cellar’s nearly 1,400 references, with every sip.
The tasting menu changes frequently to reflect the highest quality products available at the given moment, and is currently priced at €225.

2-Michelin Star Restaurants in Barcelona
Moments
Decorated with elegant shades of amber and gold, every corner of Moments exudes class and sophistication. Its setting in the renowned Mandarin Oriental on the Passeig de Gràcia only compounds its status as one of the most romantic restaurants in Barcelona.
Chef Carme Ruscalleda—who, with a whopping seven stars under her belt, has earned the title of Michelin’s most-decorated female chef—and her son Raül Balam run the powerhouse kitchen at Moments. While drawing clear inspiration from Catalan and Mediterranean classics, the dishes here feature pleasantly surprising contemporary twists with a simple secret: according to Ruscalleda, quality, fresh, seasonal ingredients make all the difference.
Order a la carte, or enjoy the tasting menu starting at €150. For a truly special experience, reserve the private Chef’s Table.

Enoteca Paco Pérez
The Mediterranean itself is the star of the show at iconic chef Paco Pérez’s eponymous restaurant. From the sweeping coastal views to the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere to the exquisite fresh seafood, everything here has been inspired by its surroundings.
The colorful, beautifully presented menu options here come together with ingredients sourced not just from the nearby sea, but from the mountains and farmland surrounding Barcelona as well. The meticulously curated wine cellar is another standout, featuring more than 700 references from around the world.
Indulge in the tasting menu for €170, or create your own culinary experience by going a la carte.
Disfrutar
Disfrutar‘s name means “enjoy” in Spanish. And that’s certainly what you’ll do while savoring the creative, tasteful Mediterranean dishes dreamed up by a team of not one, not two, but three of Catalonia’s most renowned chefs.
Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch met while working at Ferran Adrià’s legendary restaurant, El Bulli, and have since taken the culinary knowledge and skills gleaned there to the next level: first at their Cadaqués restaurant, Compartir, and next at Disfrutar, which opened in upscale Eixample in 2014.
Four different tasting menus are available, ranging in price from €155 to €195(may be a little expensive during your internship). None are available for viewing in advance, but trust us—you’re in store for the most pleasant of surprises.

Cocina Hermanos Torres
Perhaps the most personal and intimate of all the Michelin restaurants in Barcelona, Cocina Hermanos Torres (“The Torres Brothers’ Kitchen”) turns upscale dining into an inclusive, welcoming affair.
Sourcing inspiration from childhood memories, worldwide travels, and the flavors of Spain as a whole, twins Sergio and Javier Torres have transformed a onetime industrial warehouse into one of Barcelona’s most talked-about culinary spaces. The open kitchen adds a special touch: by breaking the fourth wall between customer and chef, the restaurant feels even more like a space where anyone can be at home.
The restaurant offers two tasting menus, which will set you back €185 and €165 each, or you can order a la carte.
1-Michelin Star Restaurants in Barcelona
Koy Shunka
The Japanese and Mediterranean culinary traditions both find themselves among the most highly regarded in the world, and no place manages to capture the magic of both quite like Koy Shunka.
With Toyota, Japan-born chef Hideki Matsuhisa running the show in the kitchen, it’s clear that koy shunka itself (Japanese for “intense seasonal flavors”) is exactly what this place is all about. The far-off flavors and textures of Japan arrive to Barcelona with the help of locally sourced Mediterranean ingredients to create a fusion experience which is nothing less than exceptional.
Try the “Koy” tasting menu starting at €95, or upgrade to the “(G)astro” option for €139.

El Bulli may be no more, but the Adrià brothers have once again proven that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of upscale Catalan cuisine. And there’s no way we can talk about Michelin star restaurants in Barcelona without mentioning their most famous current venture, Tickets.
Tickets takes your standard-issue tapas bar and elevates it to a whole new level of eccentricity, creativity, and all-around fun. The result: a surprisingly playful haute cuisine experience that the World’s 50 Best Restaurants guide aptly described as a “culinary amusement park.”
