This year has seen a transition process between the complete social isolation seen last year and the partial return of public activities. In this way, various types of events with a certain amount of crowds of people are becoming more and more frequent, while clearly respecting the necessary protocols.
In light of this, 2022 is shaping up to be a year of increased activity and social interaction, something that will be present in Spain. With this in mind, here is a list of some of the most important events that will take place next year, so that you can consider going to some of them during your internship in the country. WAN 2022 Madrid (1 January)
This festival will take place in La Nueva Cubierta in Leganés, it will be its 3rd edition and will count with the best production and first level artists.
Festivities of San Sebastián in Palma 2022 (15-23 January)
This event is aimed at both tourists and the local population. In the course of the event there will be concerts, exhibitions, sports competitions, fireworks and many other activities.
Spanish Football Super Cup 2022 – Final (1-31 January)
One of the country’s most important events for the world’s most famous sport. The exact dates and venue are still to be determined but it will take place in January. Take the opportunity to see your favourite players in real life during your internship.
Carnival in Ourense City 2022 (17 February – 2 March)
This event is characterised by the presence of competitions, gastronomic activities, concerts and even children’s parties.
Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 2022 (18 February – 6 March)
This event is certainly one of the most important in Las Palmas. In fact, it is one of the oldest celebrations in Spain, as it has more than 5 centuries since its inception, being declared in 2011 as a Festival of Tourist Interest of the Canary Islands.
Malaga Carnival 2022 (19-27 February)
For the locals, this is one of the events they look forward to the most, this event includes 9 consecutive days of festivities in the streets and culminates with a great fireworks display on the beach. In addition, shortly before it starts there are also several gastronomic activities in each district, where you can taste different typical dishes of the locality.
Bilbao Carnival 2022 (24 February-1 March)
Event featuring concerts, dances and competitions, as well as a carnival costume contest.
Carnival of Madrid 2022 (25 February-2 March)
An event focused on fun and welcoming spring.
Real Madrid vs Barcelona – Date 2022 (22 March)
The Spanish football derby, which will take place in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu in March.

King’s Cup Final 2022 (1-31 May)
The final of the 118th edition of the “Copa del Rey” will be held in May 2022, at a venue yet to be determined.
Primavera Sound 2022 (2-12 June)
This event, which will take place once again in Barcelona, is a festival focused on independent music that will host more than 400 artists.
Capital Fest 2022 (11 June)
The Capital Fest festival will have its second edition in 2022 and is expected to surpass the 12,000 people who attended the inaugural event.
Barro Wine Festival 2022 (17-19 June)
